Don’t remember who said it but its totally right. Nothing can be more stranger than reality. Didn’t give in the one night for the quiz. It started well with me being the fastest and highest scorer for stage 1. Went up the dais reserved for the khas khiladi tag. But 1 question’s points weren’t allocated so instead of doing the question again they did the whole round again and I was called back. It was a difference game now. After getting the first one wrong I fiddled with my second question and in a hurry marked the wrong option. Suddenly the dream run came crashing down. Tried my best to recover from it but couldn’t as made another such mistake later on which also couldn’t have made much of a difference. Had that change not taken place, it would have been a different story. The only thing I can relate to this the time when Gatting got out reverse sweeping in 1987 and England came crumbling back or Sachin miscuing Saqlain when he got that 136 in Chennai and within 4 runs of his wicket, 4 wickets went down and we lost by 12 runs.
It is not the loss of prize money but the loss of winner’s tag which hurts. Once again I lost to myself. Won’t have to plan my return from Mumbai now for the future stages. This 1 hour was equivalent to my first month’s intern salary and the cost of couple of minutes at Bright minds competition were equivalent to first year’s salary, that too only if I get a great job. A happier Sahil would have been a better choice for the exams.
